This PR update is about to end . and I observer that google has been too generous comparing to last updates .
Even some directories which was panalized got some good rankings like AvivaDirectory (pr4) .
and about 80% of the site have increased their PR . Seems like google is using the old algorithms .
but instead of that we find many site which lost their PR . like usual .
I would like to know what do you think about this Update
Google has recently updated the backlink count over the past week, so you may see new backlinks registered in the Webmasters Tools page. While a Google update usually comes weeks after this happens, don’t be too happy yet, since Google is growing more and more unpredictable.
Google has also updated Google Analytics. You can now view the traffic charts by week or month rather than by day. This is useful if you want to compare traffic over a long period of time (or calculate how much traffic you have received in a particular month).
Another feature of note is benchmarking. If you are tired of Alexa’s inaccuracies when you compare rival sites, you could give a shot at Google Analytics. Benchmarking pits you against sites that have similar “size” (determined by traffic, with 3 classifications: small, medium, large) to your site. Generally, this statistics help determine if your site’s traffic is above average, or below average. It can also serve as a… benchmark, when setting new goals. Nonetheless, there are some glitches associated with this feature (that’s why it’s in beta), such as some charts being unable to show some info if your site lies to far above or below the benchmark. … a frequently updated subset of the World Wide Web. Sites in this subset update often, and Technorati is able to index this new content within ten minutes in most cases.
Optimizing our blogs and websites for organic traffic is important. I have always optimized my pages and blog for keywords with a history of high search volume and low competition using tools like Yahoo’s Overture Keyword Analysis like most people do. This isn’t anything new or revolutionary but lately I’ve been thinking of a few other ways to get lots of traffic with minimal work.
One way is to try to keep on top of what’s being searched for in your niche and post accordingly. Unfortunately with conventional methods of keyword research, we would have to study keyword trends from months in the past and therefore sometimes lose out to those who broke the story first or work our tails off to rank up their with those folks.
But, what if you had an RSS feed of what’s being searched for right now? If you move quicker than your competition and already have a system set up to ping Google, Technorati, etc. you might just be in good shape. In comes Technorati’s handy-dandy search Watchlist.
This is an obvious tip that a lot of people I’ve spoken with have never thought of. Technorati’s watch list allows you to specify keywords to watch for, and in conjunction with their What’s Popular tool, can come in handy for some sweet organic results from Technorati and other Blog search engines such as Google’s.
Since these services list results in a “last-posted” manner, it’s easy to continue pinging every 10 minutes or so to make sure your story stays on top of the pack ;). Also, keep up with the news. Imagine the traffic resulting from people searching for specific stories that will air on Dateline or 20/20, etc. next week. A television guide generally tells you the subject matter of such shows before they even air.
Imagine the amount of traffic the first person who posted the client list of this madame got when the story aired on television. 15,000 uniques in one day to be exact. And it hasn’t trailed off either. It was a lot easier than optimizing a site for 6 months to get 300 uniques a day, I know that.
