I have listed out a few tips pertinent to this mode of marketing that might go a long way in making you a successful online entrepreneur.
Appropriate Keywords for PPC Advertising
It is a given that, only the use of appropriate keywords will help you coin the perfect search engine friendly advertisement. When it comes to Pay per Click marketing you must at least try and find a few specific keywords that are related to your site or the content that you have put up on the site. You can then use them in your attempt at this form of advertising.
Budgetary Limitations for PPC Campaign
You must try and work within the constraints of a specific budget. You should never go beyond your budgetary limitations when it comes to the Pay per Click campaign. Your result oriented bid should neither be too low or too high. (more…)
Just got and email from vBulletin to say version 3.7.0 is finally stable:
vBulletin 3.7.0 is now available for download from the vBulletin Members’ Area by all customers with active vBulletin licenses.
In this new release, we have concentrated on improving features for visitors to your vBulletin forum by implementing social networking tools such as extended user profile pages with visitor messaging, user picture albums, user-created social groups and reciprocal friendship creation. We have also taken steps to help forum staff deal with the growing problem of bulletin board spam by improving our human verification tools to prevent automated systems from registering and posting, and putting in place a one-stop-shop tool for dealing with spam and spammers in the inline moderation system.
Here is a brief but far from comprehensive list of some of the new features making their debut in vBulletin 3.7.0:
* Inline spam management & prevention
* Thread tagging
* Search cloud / tag cloud
* Thread prefixes
* Reciprocal friendships between users
* Public visitor messaging on profile pages with ‘conversation’ feature
* User picture galleries with user comment facility
* User-created social groups with invite only and moderated membership options
* Extended member profile pages
* Customizable member profile pages with admin-controlled styling abilities
* Inline editing of custom user profile fields
* Lightbox viewer for attached images
* Viewable and comparable history maintained for post edits
* Extended re-authentication for inline moderation actions

Google has recently updated the backlink count over the past week, so you may see new backlinks registered in the Webmasters Tools page. While a Google update usually comes weeks after this happens, don’t be too happy yet, since Google is growing more and more unpredictable.
Google has also updated Google Analytics. You can now view the traffic charts by week or month rather than by day. This is useful if you want to compare traffic over a long period of time (or calculate how much traffic you have received in a particular month).
Another feature of note is benchmarking. If you are tired of Alexa’s inaccuracies when you compare rival sites, you could give a shot at Google Analytics. Benchmarking pits you against sites that have similar “size” (determined by traffic, with 3 classifications: small, medium, large) to your site. Generally, this statistics help determine if your site’s traffic is above average, or below average. It can also serve as a… benchmark, when setting new goals. Nonetheless, there are some glitches associated with this feature (that’s why it’s in beta), such as some charts being unable to show some info if your site lies to far above or below the benchmark. Mozilla recently released an update for Firefox to fix a potential security threat. This update is available through auto-update.
The update only fixes one flaw in Firefox related to the Javascript “garbage collector” which may cause crashes in Firefox. While this problem has not been exploited for any purposes, Firefox isn’t going to wait till it is. This is not a feature release, so no new features are added.
An interesting note is that this update fixes only one issue, unlike other updates that normally patches several issues at once. In addition, the security flaw was fixed as soon as it was announced (i.e. on the same day). A pretty impressing feat, considering most other browser makers (notably Microsoft) prefer the all-in-one approach, compared to the bit-by-bit approach used by Mozilla.
You hate spam. Everyone hates spam. Spammers would hope that you mistakenly approve their spam, but that never really happens, if at all. As spam volumes continue to rise, people can easily brush it off as a regular thing. Nonetheless, let’s turn that nasty piece of garbage to a piece of “bragging right”. The idea is this: The more popular your site is, the more spam you’ll get.
Generally, comment spammers tend to target certain sites more than others. So, well-linked sites (and sites easily found by others through god-knows-what) tend to receive more attention by spammers. As far as anyone can tell, it does seem that spam bots are really efficient - being able to find well-concealed sites, and hitting them where you least expect them. (more…)
You’ve decided to build a website. Great! Your first step is to determine its structure - the pages you want to include and the information you want provide to visitors. But how to begin?
Your first instinct may be to make your site different from everyone else’s. After all, trying to differentiate your business is what you’ve been doing throughout your branding process. (more…)
Surfing on the official forum of Vbulletin , i found this interesting article about the new version of VB . Vbulletin 4
Preface
Evening everyone. Here we are on the eve of vb 3.7 which promises to be the last member of the vbulletin 3.x branch (security patches not-withstanding). The software has come along way to become one of the strongest PHP software packages of all, and it is backed by one of the best communities online, both user and programmer side. Jelsoft should be justly proud of their accomplishment.Before I begin I’d like to introduce who I am and a bit of my background. vBulletin brought me back to programming after I’d given it up in college, and for that I am thankful. For all intents the programming staff of vbulletin were my teacher and much of my coding style is owed to them. I would not be doing the job I do today where it not for them, and for that I’m grateful. I mention this because in this post I’m going to take a hard look at the 3.x codebase, particularly 3.7beta6 and while much of this look will be with a critical eye I want to establish now that I have nothing but the highest level of respect for the minds behind this code - where it not for their efforts I would not be in a position to do this analysis and make these suggestions. It appear the most waited version of SMF is released . and here is the offcial announce :
Simple Machines is extremely proud to announce the long awaited release of the first public beta of SMF 2.0.
SMF 2.0 has now been in development for over 18 months, and in beta with our Charter Members since August last year. Feature complete, and having undergone considerable testing and bug fixing, we are now ready to put it into the hands of the public for wider testing.
Importantly, this is a beta - and the first public beta at that. We strongly recommend that you do not use this package on a production site as it will contain bugs and issues. In addition whilst we’ll do our best to support people running the beta our support team’s primary focus will remain 1.1 during this period - so please be patient if you do experience a problem. Also, we request you note the following caveats:
The changes in this release from 1.1 are immense - and we can’t list them all here. We recommend you take a look at the changelog on the download page - some of the highlights include:
The download packages are the same as for 1.1 - simply choose the install or upgrade package depending on your requirements. If upgrading please, please remember to backup first. Please do not use this topic for support questions - use the dedicated 2.0 Support Board. Guides for installing and upgrading can be found on the Online Manual. Note that downgrading is not possible.
On a quick note to mod and theme authors, we are currently working through the templates to move towards more semantic HTML layout. Unfortunately we didn’t complete this in time for this beta, but this will make the next release, so please bear this future change in mind when looking at updating your mods and themes.
Finally, we thank you for your patience and hope you enjoy using this software as much as we have enjoyed making it.
To doanwload it check the official SMF site .
enjoy
Here’s a quick guide on how to leverage the power of YouTube to cash in.
Here’s a run down of how I personally do this in proper order (to make it easy and understandable for you)…
The watermark image should simply be text promoting your affiliate offer. I’ve had the most success promoting PPL (pay-per-lead) offers, such as ringtones, or e-mail submits. Make sure you hide your affiliate URL using a redirection service, such as TinyURL.com. It will make it easier for your viewers to remember the URL as well.
Upload the video to YouTube with a descriptive title of the video. In the description field, enter the URL you just created and some text describing your offer. Example: “Get a FREE Ringtone of this music video!”
It’s important to always follow the terms and conditions of each affiliate offer you’re promoting. Some offers restrict you from using the words, “free”, “best”, “guaranteed” etc. when promoting them. Check to make sure you aren’t violating any of these terms. It’s also best to use YouTube videos that are royalty free. Ignoring these rules and uploading a copyrighted video may get your video removed from YouTube and your account deleted. Your affiliate network account may also be terminated if a viewer reports you for promoting an offer in conjunction with a copyright violation. Play by the rules and you won’t have any problems. Your cash flow also won’t be cut off.
