Review of AdBrite

adbriteadbriteadbriteAdBrite offers a way for publishers to convert their site’s traffic into advertising offers. By posting “Your Ad Here” spaces on their sites, publishers can link site visitors to the advertising opportunities that they are currently offering and therefore generate more interest in the site’s ad spaces than would have been possible through only AdBrite’s marketplace.AdBrite also allows publishers to set their own ad rates and to approve and reject ad offers, giving them more power over what goes on their site and for what price than many other networks allow. With 547 million impressions per day on 20,758 sites and numerous advertising and customization options, AdBrite is a large network that offers flexible and innovative ways for publishers to monetize their ad spaces.

Check adsense banned sites : Protect yourself when purshassing websites for google ads .

When you are buying a website from someone for the sole purpose of putting AdSense on, it can be a catch-22 about whether to ask the site owner if he or she has ever used AdSense on the site, and if the site has been banned from AdSense. But you don’t exactly want to outlay the cash and then discover the site has been permanently banned from ever running AdSense.

On the one hand, you don’t want to invest in a site that you can never show ads on. But on the other hand, you don’t want to give a struggling hobby webmaster who might have never heard of AdSense think about signing up and trying AdSense before he goes ahead and sells it to you… because you want the best possible deal on buying the site. And yes, there are still publishers scooping up websites for a song and making back the purchase amount within days after putting on AdSense.

Pay Per Click Engines : How to increase conversions?

To increase your conversion with pey per click engines :

You should try different landing page variations and different ad variations. Do some split testing on your ads and see which ones work the best and which ones you can do without or modify.

Note everything you do so you can benchmark and track your gains or losses. Sometimes all it takes is a little bit of ad modifications and different landing pages to tap into the best conversions. Also keep a close eye on your competition and their marketing tactics. If its working for them it should work for you.

Google Analytics Data Sharing - Yes or No?-

Logging into analytics this is what I saw.

In order to improve your experience with google products, google analytics is updating its data sharing policy. You now have the ability to share your analytics data with other google services. This will improve integration, enable additional features in google's advertising services (including google analytics, AdWords and AdSense) and improve your experience with these products.

i got two choices. one for sharing for google products and the other for anonymous sharing across google and benchmarking with promise of info for verticals etc. i chose the second.
the first may help adwords users though

Some members have chosen NO , to not sharing their secrets ….

OpenX vs Google Ad Manager

Recently on ReadWriteTalk, we interviewed Scott Switzer, the CTO and Founder of OpenX. Until recently they were known as OpenAds, but they’ve since rebranded as OpenX. Shortly after the interview was recorded, Google announced a competitive product called AdManager. Scott responded on the OpenX blog by saying that “Google’s announcement of a free ad server, Ad Manager, validates our marketplace”. But he also cautioned: “as a publisher, I would find this a dangerous cocktail and I would worry that it may marginalize my revenue.”

I agree that publishers who let Google serve all of their advertisements via AdManager, even the non-Google AdSense ads, are taking a big risk. This was already a risk with Google’s Acquisition of Double Click, even before Google’s announcement of Ad Manager. See our post last year, Google’s Potential Vulnerability: An Open Ad Network, for more on this topic.

If you agree that a viable alternative is important to the marketplace, an interesting question is: what will OpenX’s business model ultimately be? We’ll focus on this question for the rest of this post.

Optimizing and adding Kontera to WordPress blog

With the recent introduction of Kontera in text link advertising, many WordPress bloggers have been switching to or adding the new service. Kontera is a publishers advertising system based solely on contextually relevant in text keywords that are discovered in real time on a web site. These keywords are then automatically turned into links to the most relevant ads found within the Kontera network of advertisers.

Through the use of Kontera ContentLink™ on a web site or blog, publishers can generate additional revenue while advertisers reach their most targeted audience. All on a Cost Per Click basis.

In the following sections, I explain how to Optimize the Kontera ContentLink™ text link code by adding or changing a few key elements to suite your WordPress blog or web site.

Buy An Expired Domain Name

Buying an expired domain name is fast growing in popularity as a strategy used to increase web traffic as well as online profits. An expired domain is one whose previous owner has not renewed ownership of it due to various reasons. These domains are then re-cast into the market online for sale.

While there are countless benefits of owning an expired domain, you should been on the alert for scams. These cheat seemingly expired domains advertise substantial domain traffic that may not exist at all. This could sometimes be generated by resources purporting to help anyone interested to buy an expired domain name when in actual fact, they are just trying to create the impression of distinct, quality web traffic to lure unsuspecting ‘victims’ to sign up for their services offered. When you decide to buy an expired domain name, make sure that you do so from a proven reliable source.

If you’re not sure where to look and what to look for, there are tools available that can help you track domains that are about to expire. Use of these tools might come with a regular monthly fee that will not only trail these kinds of web sites, but an additional service that often comes attached to these tools is the ability to list the volume of targeted traffic as well as the popularity of these domains with search engines. This is especially useful to someone intending to make a business out of buying these expired domains and re-selling them for a profit.

Once you’re found the domain you want - one that is relevant to your current online business, has an established site and regular targeted traffic - the rest is easy. All you have to do next is to register your new domain at a domain register easily found online; buying an expired domain name is as simple as that. Again, search your choices carefully and pick the one that is not only reliable but affordable for your business as well.

How to Make Money with YouTube

Here’s a quick guide on how to leverage the power of YouTube to cash in.

  1. Download a popular music video or viral video with YouTube Catcher (FREE) and save it in FLV format.
  2. Convert FLV video to MPEG using SUPER software (FREE).
  3. Add watermarks to your videos with your website address on it promoting your affiliate offer using VirtualdubMOD (FREE). Read this tutorial on how to watermark your videos using this software.
  4. Cash the checks and repeat!

Here’s a run down of how I personally do this in proper order (to make it easy and understandable for you)…

  • Download YouTube video and save it in FLV format
  • Convert FLV to MPEG (using SUPER)
  • Create watermark bitmap image in Photoshop (read the tutorial mentioned above)
  • Import MPEG to VirtualDubMOD, add BMP image to video
  • Export and save video as an AVI
  • Convert AVI to MPEG in SUPER

The watermark image should simply be text promoting your affiliate offer. I’ve had the most success promoting PPL (pay-per-lead) offers, such as ringtones, or e-mail submits. Make sure you hide your affiliate URL using a redirection service, such as TinyURL.com. It will make it easier for your viewers to remember the URL as well.

Upload the video to YouTube with a descriptive title of the video. In the description field, enter the URL you just created and some text describing your offer. Example: “Get a FREE Ringtone of this music video!”

It’s important to always follow the terms and conditions of each affiliate offer you’re promoting. Some offers restrict you from using the words, “free”, “best”, “guaranteed” etc. when promoting them. Check to make sure you aren’t violating any of these terms. It’s also best to use YouTube videos that are royalty free. Ignoring these rules and uploading a copyrighted video may get your video removed from YouTube and your account deleted. Your affiliate network account may also be terminated if a viewer reports you for promoting an offer in conjunction with a copyright violation. Play by the rules and you won’t have any problems. Your cash flow also won’t be cut off.
